Terms of Service
Last Updated: October 21, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using The Thirteen Standards of Knowledge platform ("Service", "Platform", "we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use this Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that:
- You are at least 18 years of age
- You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
- You will comply with all applicable laws and regulations
- All information you provide is accurate and truthful
3. Description of Service
The Thirteen Standards of Knowledge is an educational platform that provides:
- Access to educational content about The Thirteen Standards of Knowledge
- SOK's AI: an assistant built on our proprietary framework and served by a third-party AI model provider, in chat and inside your planning worksheets
- Video content and educational materials
- Interactive learning experiences
The Service is provided for educational purposes only and is not intended to provide financial, legal, medical, or professional advice.
4. Account Registration and Security
4.1 Account Creation
- You must create an account using Google OAuth authentication
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
- You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
4.2 Account Security
- You must immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your account
- We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms
5. Payment Terms
5.1 Payment Structure
- The Service requires a one-time payment of $10,000 USD for lifetime access
- Payment is processed through Stripe, a third-party payment processor
- All payments are final. We do not offer refunds except where the law requires or as our Refund Policy states
5.2 Payment Processing
- By making a payment, you authorize us to charge your payment method
- You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate purchase and account information
- We reserve the right to refuse or cancel orders at our sole discretion
- We implement rate limiting on payment attempts to prevent abuse (15 attempts per hour per user)
5.3 Access After Payment
- Upon successful payment, you will receive lifetime access to the Service
- "Lifetime access" means access for as long as the Service is available and your account remains in good standing
- We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time
- Lifetime access does not guarantee access to future features or content additions
5.4 AI Usage Credits
- Use of SOK's AI (chat, inline worksheet suggestions, text extraction from uploaded files, and dictation) is paid for separately from enrollment, in prepaid AI credits denominated in US dollars
- Credits belong to your organization and are shared by its members; a solo account is an organization of one. The organization's owner buys credits and sees each member's usage
- Each AI request draws down the balance by the cost our AI model provider charges us for that request plus a markup. The current rates are shown in Settings → Billing, together with an estimate of what a dollar gets; the estimate is derived from past usage and is not a guarantee
- Enrolled accounts receive a one-time free allowance of AI usage. We may change the size of the allowance for new enrollments at any time
- Credits are bought in the amounts offered in Settings → Billing, subject to a minimum and a maximum per purchase. If you turn on auto-reload, you authorize us to charge your saved payment method for the amount needed to bring your balance back to your chosen level whenever it falls to the floor you set, until you turn auto-reload off or remove the card
- When your balance is exhausted, AI requests are refused until credits are added. A request that is already in progress when the balance reaches zero will complete
- Credits have no cash value, may not be transferred outside the Service, and do not expire while your account remains in good standing. Purchased credits are non-refundable except where required by law or as stated in our Refund Policy
- Every credit purchase and every charge against your balance is recorded in a ledger you can review in Settings. If you believe an entry is wrong, contact us within 30 days of the entry and we will review it
5.5 Trial and Invited Access
- We may grant access by invitation, including trial access for a period we state in the invitation, without the payment in Section 5.1
- Trial access includes the free AI allowance in Section 5.4 but not the ability to buy AI credits, and a trial account cannot be a member of an organization or add members to one
- Trial access ends on the date stated in the invitation unless we extend it or convert it to full access; we may change, extend, or end trial access at any time
- These Terms apply to trial and invited accounts in full
6. Demo Sessions
6.1 Demo Access
- We may offer limited demo sessions for users to preview the Service
- Demo sessions are subject to rate limiting and usage restrictions
- Demo access does not include full access to all Service features
- We reserve the right to modify or discontinue demo access at any time
6.2 Rate Limiting
- Demo sessions are limited to prevent abuse
- We track IP addresses and browser fingerprints to enforce rate limits
- Attempts to circumvent rate limits may result in permanent ban from the Service
